I bought these Salomon XA Wild hikers directly from Salomon's website. I wore them only in the house and noticed a loud click coming from the rubberized fabric, upon every step. I am now regretting ever purchasing directly from Salomon's website as they are making me jump through hoops to process an RMA. After sending them a video, they claim they can't open it and are holding up my return. So here you go Salomon, here is a formatted video uploaded to YouTube and made public for the entire world to see the poor quality of this shoe and to highlight your horrible return policies. I recommend that customers buy directly from Amazon and save themselves the aggravation if a return is needed.

Typically, I get half a size bigger for my hiking boots and shoes. But even in half a size bigger these shoes were a bit tight for me. Anyway, let's start with some specs: Textile and Synthetic Imported Rubber sole Shaft measures approximately low-top from arch Quick Drying Breathable Mesh Protective Rubber Toe Cap Asymmetrical Lacing Weight: 380g Midsole height: 27mm/16mm (11mm drop) If you are looking for best lightweight hiking shoes, you found them! These trail running shoes offer a good balance between weight and protection. Salomon has a lot of great products, but these particular shoes made it onto many Best Hiking Shoes 2018 lists, and it makes sense why. If you are looking for waterproof trail running shoes, then you need to check out Salomon XA Pro 3D Gore Tex version, or GTX (the link is above). Overall, I do love these shoes from Salomon. They might not be the best for Ultimate Survival, but I will definitely consider them for being the best trail running shoes.
