World's Hardest Flash - Adam Ondra Climbs 5.15 (9a+) First Try

Watch epic new films on Reel Rock 16 here: 🤍 "Flashing" a climb means doing it bottom to top, with no falls, on your first try. Adam Ondra, the best sport climber in the world, set himself an impossible-seeming goal of becoming the first person to flash a route rated 9a+ (5.15a). There were only a few climbs of the grade on the planet that he hadn't yet done or tried. He strategized for years, failed on several of them, and then in 2018 he finally succeeded, sending Alex Megos' route Supercrackinette, in St Leger, France. Luckily our team was there to capture this rare moment. The full documentary, "Age of Ondra," about Adam's climbing career and his epic mission to flash 9a+, is featured in Reel Rock 13. You are going to be utilizing your core because you are starting from a plank position. Your shoulders have to stabilize your upper body. Your triceps have to work isometrically to keep you in place. And then you are gonna be moving your legs, so you are getting some work in the hip joint. And also because you are usually doing them pretty quickly, it becomes a very cardiovascular type movement. So getting into your plank position, hands a little wider than your shoulders. Abdominals are braced. And then you are gonna draw one knee in without lifting the hips up. So you might kinda feel like your legs are skimming the floor. If you are not that flexible you take it to whatever range you can without the hips elevating. So your mountain climber might start here, it might come all the way in. That's just a flexibility issue. And you are gonna alternate legs. The faster you go the more that heart rate is gonna come up. Again keeping the arms over or the shoulder over your wrist is were key to being able to maintain the plank. So you are looking not for your hips to be in the air, but for your hips to be low and your quad contracted. And then just moving in and out; nice and quickly. Getting that action in the legs, getting the action in the arms. Just a great total body exercise.

🤍 Climbers are Jay Blakk and Kiko Deal, and these guys know exactly what they are doing. This EP, 'Equal Responsibility' proves that. The title track carries a hugely effective 80's synth feel to it, but without the danger of being cheesy. A feel-good vocal line moves the soul as the bassline shakes your body. This is a summer track, perfect for every open air and festival to come. MAM (Miguel Campbell and Matt Hughes) remix 'Equal Responsibility' and adds emphasis on the bassline while upping the percussion to a club level. He takes it a couple shades darker and adds ingenious synthwork into the mix. The 80's feel is not gone though, just darkened. We love it, and we think you will too. 'Hypnotic Vision' is another synth heavy track, taking us on a journey through sound. This one is a bit more tricky, as it's not so straightforward in it's progression, in other words, not so predictable. That's exactly why we like it. But don't write this off as a B-side track just yet; when the beat drops you know what is up. The vibe is amazing. Well worth the wait and well worth another listen. Get Physical Music Webshop 🤍

That video will help determine if you have hypomobile shoulders, and thus would benefit from this video, or hypermobile shoulders, in which case you should not perform these exercises. THE ROUTINE In this routine, you may find some stretches are more necessary for you than others. Or, you may notice a few are super easy! It is OK to focus more on the stiff areas and ignore ones where you already have great mobility. Note: There are, of course, other effective shoulder stretches. But this is a simple, easy program with minimal position changes that can be done in a short amount of time. I’ve put together a chart to help you follow along, and now let’s go through the exercises! Thoracic Extension on Foam Roller For this you’ll want to lie on the ground with the foam roller across your mid / upper back. Support your head by clasping your hands across the back of your head. Lift your butt up off of the ground, and roll back and forth throughout the mid back region. Perform for 1-2 minutes. Pectoral Stretches (hands low, 90/90, and overhead) Here you can use a door, corner of a wall, or a solid post if needed. I recommend doing a 2 handed version for max efficiency, but if you only have 1 sturdy post around, a single-arm version is fine. Start with hands down low, about 45-60 degrees out to your side, and fingers pointing down and out. Elbows should be slightly bent. Step forward with one leg until you feel a gentle stretch across your chest and/or shoulders. Hold for 30-45 seconds, then move your hands up until they are in the 90-90 position (90 degrees of elbow bend, shoulders at 90 degrees out to the side). Hold for 30-45 seconds, then move your arms up to an overhead position (about 120 degrees of shoulder abduction). Fingers should now be pointed up and out, elbows slightly bent. Hold for 30-45 seconds. Latissimus Dorsi Stretch For this, a doorway or post is once again very useful. Grab the post or door frame with your thumb *up*. This is key to prevent shoulder discomfort and it improves the stretch. Your bicep should be close to your ear at this point. Next, shift your weight away, creating a stretch in the lats. You may feel an added stretch if you add in a bit of rotation at your hip/trunk. Hold for 30-45 seconds, then let’s move on. Ran out of room!!
