Induced Emf Question where magnetic field changes direction
This video was made for the Electromagnetic Induction Lab for PHYS 102 and PHYS 151. A function generator is connected to a Primary coil. The changing current in the coil produces a changing magnetic field. The magnetic field then induces an emf (electromotive force) an a Secondary coil. The signals in both coils are measured as voltages in a oscilloscope. The video begins a short explanation of the equipment. Then, the waveform in the Primary coil switches between a sine wave, a square wave, and a triangle waves, showing the resulting induced waveform in the secondary coil. After that, the frequency and amplitude of the signal in the Primary are adjusted, again showing the resulting changes in the waveform from the secondary coil. Lastly, the relative angle between the Primary and Secondary coils is changed.
